We're home.
After three days and nights of Thanksgiving festivities in good ole Live Oak, FL and a harrowing ELEVEN HOUR DRIVE (it is supposed to take EIGHT, people) back to Nashville, we are finally home.
Home…where it is snowing. Although I don’t mind that much right now. As much as I love and miss Florida, there is something nice about having a time of year where you honest to goodness can’t be doing anything better than cozying up with your book/movie/letter writing/journaling and coffee/hot chocolate.
However, all of that will have to wait a little while, as I made a to-do list this morning and promptly began having anxiety attacks about All There Is To Do. Please note:
- Buy Christmas presents online where applicable.
- Pay electric bill.
- Return library books, including ones I am sure they have a price on my head for because they got buried in a secret place in the car.
- Deposit checks I have been carrying in my purse for a month.
- Obtain quarters for the laundry room so I can finally do “all” the laundry.
- Put up Christmas tree so we can spend the rest of the month keeping the cat from stealing all the ornaments.
- Take Christmas picture for cards.
- Send out Christmas cards so they do not get NOT sent at the last minute, like last year.
- Do some Christmas baking (any fun ideas?)
- Buy plane tickets to wedding in January.
- Attempt to plan vacation that will hopefully happen for reals this time.
- Return all the things I bought but did not actually want, e.g. boots in the wrong size, makeup in the wrong color.
- Buy 2009 planner so I can do better next year. I thought I could handle this all electronically but have to return to pen and paper.
Additionally, both of our office Christmas parties are this weekend. So that should be a fun adventure for all.
Also, how is it December? This year has been crazy. Next year, I am assuming, will only be crazier what with weddings and my best friend having a BABY GIRL (!) (speaking of, where can you find awesome baby stuff that isn’t Babies R Us?).
However, all of those things are the good kind of crazy, so no complaints here!
