Very, very caffeinated.
Over the weekend, we went to visit Cameron’s family in SC, which was quite fun but also left me a little exhausted. Apparently sleeping for 11 hours last night didn’t quite do the trick for me and I wasn’t exactly up and at ‘em this morning. So I decided to go get a coffee from Starbucks.
Holy molasses.
A few months ago, I made the decision to largely decaffeinate my life, which has worked out GREAT. However, I was unaware how that apparently makes me a bad candidate for a grande coffee, which apparently has more caffeine than most to all energy drinks on the market. As in, two to three times as much.
First, I had what felt like “superhuman” senses, you know, like a werewolf - super sensitive hearing, heightened awareness. That was until the shakes, nausea, chills and decreased attention span kicked in. Good grief.
No more caffeine for me. Ugh.

That’s funny. Empty stomach? I get shaky if I drink to much caffeine on an empty stomach. I can’t imagine giving up caffeine… I thought I was an addict until I had this patient who drank 40-60 (FORTY-SIXTY) cups a day. We weren’t sure how someone like that would react to anesthesia/withdrawing from caffeine. So we gave him a caffeine drip. That’s right folks, it comes in IV form.

I have thought about giving up caffeine for awhile JUST to get this exact physical reaction. Except not the nausea. Thanks for the heads up.
